The Run

Bib Event Surname First Name Gender Result
6729 14.14KM Percy Steven M 01:06.14

Firstly a BIG THANK YOU to all the people that donated and sponsored Steven this year - we raised an amazing $1000.00.

Steven isn't overly happy with his time this year and hopes to better it next year, but he was a bit stressed before the race. There was a big muck up with phone companies changing times on mobiles for daylight saving when daylight savings hadn't finished here in Melbourne. Steven's phone was one of them and he had to do a mad dash to get to the race on time and didn't have time to prepare properly as he got there about 10 minutes late and just had to run.

Of course we all think that he did extremely well - I could never run 14km and certainly not in just over an hour!...so we are all very proud of him...add to that that he hurt his knee training a week before the race and still did the time he did personally I think that it is fantastic.

I will try later to get a photo off the RCH website and post it here.

Again THANK YOU everyone for your support.

We are hoping to reach similar amount to what we raised last year...so thanks in advance.

The tally is in.....

and thanks to everyone we raised a massive

$3065.00

which will be sent off the Royal Childrens Hospital after the Easter Break.

John rang up and registered the donation with the Good Friday Appeal...we did see our name pop up on screen but as yet have not heard our donation read out - as we asked them to say that all the money was raised in honour of Rani of donations for my brother (Uncle Stevie) who ran the 15.2km in the Run for Kids Fun Run.

So the biggest of thank you's to everyone that donated....we truly appreciate and I know that the RCH will as well :)

Thank You

to Scrapbooking 4 Less who held a Charity Scrapbooking All Day Crop with all the money raised from the crop and raffles going to the Royal Childrens Hospital have raised an amazing $1415.00

Thank you Shelley for organising and holding this for this special cause that is so close to our hearts.

We have all been amazed by the genourisity of people that never even met Rani or even heard of her story, it is so special that so many people are supporting the Royal Childrens Hospital.

We are still waiting on a couple of donations to come in but hopefully by Wednesday I will have a total of the amount that we will be sending to RCH.

Thank You doesn't sound enough but Thank You to each and every one of you that have supported this...it truly is appreciated and hopefully the money that you have helped us raise will prevent another family having to go through this.

The Run!!!

Well 27 000 people did the run today, Steven being just one of them. The weather was perfect for the run...nice and cool and the sun didn't really come out until after the race had finished.

Steven...seen here with his friend Mark, who he trained with and ran most of the race with - wearing the shirt that I made him for the race. John, Teagan, Josh and I all had the same picture on the back of our shirts as well...ran the race in 1 hour and 9 minutes which he was very pleased with considering this was the first time he had ever run 15km's.

We also managed to catch him part of the way through the race...clapping his hands when he saw us and then giving us the No. 1...lol

We would like to thank everyone for their support
and generous donations - those that have pledge donations could you please make sure we have the money by Good Friday - as we would like to give the money in for the Good Friday Appeal for the Royal Childrens Hospital and it is also not to late to donate if you would still like to.
